What Are Snap-In Implant Dentures?

Snap-In Implant Dentures are dentures that are specifically tailored to fit your mouth and are securely attached to dental implants. These implants are skillfully placed by your dentist to ensure a comfortable and secure fit. This innovative solution provides numerous benefits, such as:

Enhance your dining experience by securing your denture with dental implants. With increased strength and confidence, you can savor your favorite meals to the fullest.

Non-removable dentures stay securely in the mouth, unlike removable ones.

Feel confident and secure as you smile and laugh, knowing that your dentures are firmly in place.

Upgrade your comfort level with dentures that have reduced movement, minimal rubbing, and chafing.

Improve your nutrition by chewing your food more effectively.

Designed for patients with inadequate bone for implants, this product meets the minimal bone requirement.

Stop bone loss | Dental implants stimulate ongoing bone growth in the jaw, even following tooth extraction, effectively preventing bone loss.

To reduce or eliminate gagging, sometimes a portion of the palate can be removed, exposing the roof of the mouth. This procedure helps to alleviate or completely eliminate the uncomfortable feeling of gagging caused by wearing dentures.

Dental implants provide enhanced comfort by minimizing or eliminating the discomfort caused by denture movement.

Certain patients with implants may have the option to partially remove the palate of their upper denture, which can enhance their ability to taste food.

Snap-In Implant Dentures Vs. Traditional Dentures

Although traditional dentures may have an attractive appearance and be affordable, they lack in terms of functionality, stability, and chewing capability. Non-implant dentures come with certain drawbacks, such as:

The ability to chew is reduced due to the movement of the lower denture, resulting in only 10-20% of the chewing power of natural teeth. The lower denture is constantly destabilized by movements of the tongue and cheeks.

Speaking can be challenging because of the lower denture's movement.

Individuals experience embarrassment due to the fear of dentures slipping out, which hinders their ability to eat, laugh, and speak comfortably in front of others.

Traditional dentures often cause discomfort and gum irritation due to their tendency to shift, especially the lower ones.

Patients may struggle to consume a well-rounded diet and properly digest food due to the loss of chewing power, resulting in poor nutrition.

After tooth extraction, individuals typically face considerable bone loss, which continues to occur over their lifetime. As a result, wearing traditional dentures becomes progressively more difficult as time passes.

Many individuals experience gagging because of the conventional upper denture that covers the roof of their mouth, offering suction and stability. Nevertheless, if the denture is trimmed to alleviate this gagging, it will lead to reduced stability and the loss of natural suction.

Snap-In Implant Dentures greatly improve and alleviate these issues to a significant extent.

Am I a Candidate?

Most patients are eligible! A short consultation will be necessary for verification. In this appointment, we will take a 3D scan of your jawbones, the dentist will perform an oral examination, and they will carefully go through your medical history with you.

What is the number of implants I will require?

In order to get upper implant dentures, you need at least 4 implants. On the other hand, for lower implant dentures, 2 implants can be enough, but having 3 or 4 implants usually improves retention and stability to a great extent.

The timeline for the Snap-In Implant Dentures procedure is as follows:

On average, the process usually lasts for approximately 6 months from beginning to end.
1

The procedure

Once all teeth have been extracted and any necessary oral surgeries have been completed, the implants are placed into the jawbone. Over time, the implants typically become indistinguishable. They will remain undisturbed in your jaw for at least 4 months as your bone fuses with them through a process called osseointegration.
2

Post Op

We have scheduled a brief post-operative visit for the day after your procedure. During this appointment, we will assess your mouth, ensure that you are comfortable with your dentures, and answer any questions you may have.
3

Soft Liners and Soft Re-Fittings are available.

Soft liners are used as cushions for your denture during the healing process. They help fill in gaps between your gums and dentures, providing comfort and support. Additionally, they improve the fit and overall feel of your dentures.
4

Uncovery.

This procedure involves uncovering the implants and attaching small healing abutments to shape your gums and prepare you for snap-in dentures.
5

Implant Attachment for Dentures

We will swap out your healing abutments for denture abutments and carry out all the necessary procedures to attach your dentures to implants. Usually, this process can be completed within a day, although in some cases it may take a little longer.
